The Center specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of symptoms related to gastrointestinal health. This includes any medical condition affecting the esophagus, stomach, intestines and pelvic floor.
Who is it for?
The Center is aimed at people suffering from esophageal–gastric conditions (heartburn, reflux, feeling of fullness, indigestion), intestinal disorders (constipation, diarrhea, abdominal swelling, bloating) and pelvic issues (incontinence, pelvic pain).
Diseases Treated
The origin of digestive symptoms can be functional (altered motility, visceral hypersensitivity, intestinal microbiota) and structural (congenital abnormalities). The GI disorders treated at the Center include the following: Dyspepsia, Helicobacter Pylori Infection, Gastroesophageal Reflux, Gastritis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Abdominal Bloating, Dysbiosis, Constipation, Diarrhea, Fecal Incontinence, Pelvic Pain.
The diagnosis
A range of specialist tests are available at the Center, including digestive endoscopy, gut microbiome tests, and food intolerance tests.
The Gastro Center is equipped with endoscopic units where outpatient endoscopic examinations – gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy – are performed in deep sedation supervised by an anesthesiologists, upon request.
Endoscopy procedures allow to examine the digestive system using high-definition instruments that consist of a small flexible tube with a micro camera and a cluster of optical fibers at its end. This device provides a detailed visualization of the mucosa displayed on a screen and also allows the storage of photos on a USB drive.
