Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1981 with specialization in Nutritional Science and Dietetics and Hydrology, Climatology and Thalassotherapy in 1989.

Since 1985 he has been working in the field of food-related disorders and is currently a lecturer at the University of Pavia.
Author of many books, he also contributes to numerous magazines and television programs.
