ORTHOPEDICS, in the strict sense of the word, deals with musculoskeletal and joint diseases caused by tissue degeneration as a result of aging, inflammatory conditions, and genetic predisposition among other factors. A surgical subspecialty of Orthopedics is TRAUMATOLOGY, i.e. the study and treatment of injuries affecting the bones, but also joints, muscles and tendons. Also in this case, elderly patients are more at risk, due to a greater incidence of falls and the increase in bone fragility, caused by OSTEOPOROSIS.

The Columbus Clinic Center osteoporosis medical practice offers a specialized service for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, characterized by a structural deterioration of bone tissue which leads to bone fragility and therefore an increased risk of fractures.

The medical practice is open every Thursday from 6pm to 7pm.
